Margaret (Dezso) Sherrick Griffith

Margaret (Dezso) Sherrick Griffith, age 93, former resident of Golf Manor, Fairfield, and Mallard Cove Senior Living,  passed peacefully on April 23, 2015.   Born in Nelsonville Ohio, she was elected  May Queen by her classmates at Nelsonville High School.   At 18 years of age she married Floyd Sherrick of New Lexington Ohio .  Marge is survived by her two children,  Michael Sherrick, a retired professor of psychology, and Sandra (Dr. Richard) Barsan, a retired American Airlines flight attendant, brother Bob (Libby) Dezso, and granddaughter  Kelly Barsan (Mike) Silverman,  several nephews and nieces, including Susie (Fritz) Hercules of Akron, Ohio,  and special friend Laura Wallace.  After the passing of her husband in 1982,  Marge married Gerald  (Jerry) Griffith, formerly of Montgomery, Ohio  and Chicago.  She was readily accepted into the large Griffith family and especially by Jerry’s daughter in law,  Kim Griffith.   Marge enjoyed many happy years with Jerry until his death in 2005.   Marge wa s preceded in death by grandson Robert (Bobby) Barsan and by brothers Chuck and John Dezso and sisters Ella Markoff and Velma Weaver.  Marge worked as an executive secretary  for SKF Bearings and Scott Bearings in Cincinnati.  A brief remembrance and celebration of her life will take place in the Theater of Mallard Cove Senior Living, 1410 Mallard Cove Dr, Sharonville, Ohio 45246  at 2:00pm on Wednesday April 29.  All are welcome.  In lieu of flowers, Marge and her family ask that friends raise a glass of wine in her name, and enjoy the good food and dancing at the German and Polish outdoor festivals that she frequently attended.
