Marion Mccollum

Age 87 of Hamilton passed away Friday, April 23, 2010 at Christ Hospital. He was born December 21, 1922 in Hamilton, the son of John and Charlotte (Wilson) McCollum. On August 11, 1950 Marion married Rena Blanton in Hamilton. Pete was a Veteran of the US Army and the United States Marine Corps, retiring as a Gunnery Sergeant. He later worked and retired from the United States Postal Service.
Pete leaves behind his son, Glenn McCollum; grandsons, Shawn (Rebecca) McCollum and Justin McCollum; great-grandchildren, Caden and Connor McCollum; and sister, Eunice Cornett. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Marvin McCollum; wife, Rena; and many brothers and sisters.
Visitation will be 10 a.m. - until 12 Noon, Tuesday, April 27, 2010 at the Avance Funeral Home & Crematory, 4976 Winton Rd., Fairfield. Graveside services will be immediately following visitation at Hickory Flats Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Disabled American Veterans (DAV).
