Marjorie F. Braun
Marjorie F. Braun was carried into eternal glory on May 29, 2013. She was born July 31, 1933 to Julian and Georgia (Young) Marcum, the second of six children all of whom survive. On June 27, 1953, she married Paul C. Braun and they spent nearly 60 years together raising their family, making and entertaining friends, enjoying their time together at Lake Cumberland and living a life of friendship and service to others. Margie retired as a Cook's Helper from Hamilton City Schools after 25 years of service. Her greatest joy was to entertain and cook for friends and family, especially her grandchildren who always enjoyed their "Nonnie's" cooking.
Devout in her faith, the seeds of her lifetime of serving were planted in the Cradle Roll of the First Baptist Church Hamilton where she was a member from the time of her childhood profession of faith and baptism, serving as a Deaconess, teacher, nursery worker, cook for mid-week dinners, long time choir member, Matthew 25 volunteer, and in numerous other places where needed.
Margie is survived by her husband, Paul C. Braun, children Michael (Dale) Braun and Sharon (Bob) Benzing and the special lights of her life, grandchildren Erin (Steve) Strunk, Daniel (Brandi) French, Andrew Braun and Joshua Braun (both active USMC), Mark (Kelly) Braun , Joseph Braun and great-grandchildren Katie, Libby ,Allie, Steven, and Corbin. She is also survived by her siblings Lois (Bill) Phillips, Betty (Ken) Dulli, Arlene (Jack) Thomas, Rosie (Neil) Burtis, John (Stacey) Marcum, special Aunt Bettie Braun, sisters-in-law Mary Flo Braun and Gail Braun, numerous nieces and nephews who have special memories of Aunt Margie, and a host of dear friends too numerous to mention.
