Mark Justin Cherry

Mark Justin Cherry was a passionate musician, unwavering activist, and devoted friend. He passed away suddenly in his home on Wednesday, May 29th, 2024, at the age of 40. Born on August 28, 1983, Mark would not want to be remembered for his career but through the people who knew him and the memories they shared. His intelligence, creativity, and kindness left a lasting impact on everyone he met. A talented musician, Mark played bass for the bands Molotov Cocktail Rock N Roll and Their Accomplices. His music was infused with energy and soul, captivating and inspiring his audiences. Mark's life was filled with music, and he was happiest when he was on stage or creating new sounds. In addition to his musical pursuits, Mark was an avid reader and gamer. Naturally, he was fond of road trips and adventure, which coincidentally enabled him to consume a seemingly endless supply of audiobooks. His books gave him the words and ideas through which he understood the world, particularly as he sought to better himself. Mark is preceded in death by his younger brother, Andrew James Cherry; his maternal grandparents, Maxine Stannard and Donald Stannard; and his paternal grandmother, Patricia Cherry. He was the beloved son of Teresa Jean Cherry and Phillip Walter Cherry. He shared his life with his loving partner, Oliver Wasserberg, and their two cats, Beans and Chazzzzz, who filled his days with whimsy and joy. Mark was a cherished brother to Alexander Phillip Cherry, Patricia Dolores Cherry, and Zachary David Cherry. He also leaves behind his niece, Dakota Bethany Kathryn Cherry, and his grandfather, Walter Fleming Cherry Jr. Flowers can be accepted as a memorial gathering that will be held on Sunday, June 2nd, from 1:00PM to 5:00PM at Central Turners, located at 2200 Pinney Lane, Cincinnati, Ohio 45231.
