Martilu Puthoff

PUTHOFF

Martilu PhD., age 84 of Fairfield passed away on Friday, March 23, 2012 at Heartland of Woodbridge. She was born in Covington, KY the daughter of the late Robert and Martha (nee Thomas) Puthoff. She is survived by her nieces Drury Puthoff (Tom) Scarborough and Erin Puthoff (Jeffrey) Shaw, both of Monroe, NC; Great-nephew Robert Victor Shaw.

Her extensive academic achievements began when she completed her bachelors and masters degrees at Marshall University in Huntington, West Virginia. She was later awarded her doctorate from Indiana University, Bloomington, Indiana. Her teaching career began at St. Joseph's High School in Huntington, West Virginia, followed by tenure at Lakota West High School in West Chester, Ohio. Dr. Puthoff later served as Dean of Physical Education at SUNY College, Brockport, New York, and subsequently retired as Dean of physical Education and Recreation at the University of Northern Colorado, in Greely, Colorado. She then moved to Fairfield, Ohio, where she completed a new career as Career Account Representative with the Variable Annuity Life Insurance Company, "VALIC". Memorial Mass will be held at St. John Neumann Catholic Church 12191 Mill Rd Cincinnati, Ohio 45420 on April 12, 2012 at 11 a.m. Visitation will be an hour prior from 10-11 a.m. Condolences may be given at www.avancefuneralhome.com
