Mary V. Greene

Age 101 of Fairfield, passed away Thursday, August 13, 2009 at Hospice of Hamilton. She was born in Wise, VA on May 23, 1908, the daughter of Jack and Elizabeth (Powers) Adkins. On November 17, 1925 Mary married John Delmar Greene in Wise, VA. She was a member of the East River Road Baptist Church.
Mary leaves behind her daughter, Nina (Maurice) Horne of Fairfield; sons, Bill (Louise) Greene of Hamilton and John Delmar (Nellie) Greene, Jr. of Kingsport, TN; 6 grandchildren, Larry, Mike, Jeff, Scott, Billy and Randy; 21 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; 2 sisters, Lola and Martha; and 3 brothers, Earl, Everett and Delmar.
The family wishes to express their thanks to Heartland of Woodridge and Hospice of Hamilton for their wonderful care they provided.
Visitation will be 2 p.m. - until time of service (3:30 p.m.), Sunday, August 16, 2009 at the Avance Funeral Home & Crematory, 4976 Winton Rd., Fairfield with Pastor Jim Williford officiating. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family at Roundtop Cemetery in Wise, VA. Memorials may be made to the Hospice of Hamilton, 1010 Eaton Rd., Hamilton, OH 45013.
