Mary Jane Schmitz

Age 76, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, January 10, 2010. She was born in Hamilton on August 14, 1933 to Christine (Weik) and Joseph Kraft. Mary Jane graduated from Hamilton High School in 1951. She married the love of her life, Jim Schmitz on September 15, 1951. She touched many lives through her years as a school bus driver for Hamilton City Schools, volunteer activities, and activities through Lindenwald United Methodist Church where she was a faithful member for years. Those who knew Mary Jane will remember her as a thoughtful, kind person who always put the needs of others ahead of her own.

She is survived by her loving children, Steven (Cynthia); Lee Ann (Kirk), and Neil (Tiffani); grandchildren, Steve (Stephanie), Eric, Ryan, Sarah, Christopher (Lindsey), Andrew, and Evan; great grandchildren, Taleah and Evan Austen; and brothers, Russell Kraft and Kenneth Kraft. She was preceded in death by her parents and precious husband.

Visitation will be 5-8pm, Wednesday, January 13, 2010, at the Avance Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 10:30am, Thursday, January 14, 2010, Lindenwald United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at the Rose Hill Burial Park in Hamilton with Pastor Valerie Waibel officiating. Contributions can be made to Lindenwald United Methodist Chruch or Hospice of Hamilton.
