Maurine Van Meter Hess, age 91, passed away at her residence in Fairfield, Ohio on Tuesday, December 18, 2012. Born on July 2, 1921to LaVergne and Glen Van Meter in San Antonio, Texas. Maurine spent most of her childhood and much of her later life in Bronxville, New York. She graduated from Bronxville High School in 1939 and The Principia College in 1943. She married Robert Kellogg Hess in 1945 and lived in a variety of places, including Detroit, MI, Levittown, NY, Williamstown, MA and Lancaster, PA, before moving back to Bronxville in 1958. She started a successful career in real estate with MJ Bossard Real Estate in 1962 and later became the president and owner of Bossard Hess Real Estate. After retiring, she also lived in Delray Beach, Florida.

She is survived by a son, William Hess (Barbara) of Fairfield, Ohio, a daughter, Nancy Kellogg Gray of New York City, grandsons: Bryan Hess, Robert Hess and Marc Stemann; a granddaughter, Dora Kellogg Gray of New York City and a sister, Jenise Van Meter Mudie of Charleston, WV.

Maurine was active with the Christian Science Churches in Bronxville, NY and Wyoming, OH. A private family service will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Principia. www.principiagiving.org. Condolences may be given at www.avancefuneralhome.com
