Meredith Christine, age 24; Passed away suddenly while on a camping trip to Shawnee State Forest. Beloved daughter of Charles and Mary (nee Hempel) Wilkie; devoted granddaughter of Bill and Charlotte Wilkie. Also survived by her special friends Leah Blanton of Cincinnati, Andrew Roland of Kent Ohio and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Preceded in death by her grandparents Edward and Dorothy Hempel.
A 2005 graduate of Fairfield High School, she played the clarinet in the woodwind ensemble, was a member of the soccer team, an avid runner, bicyclist, and knitter.
Formerly of Fairfield, Meredith was residing in Columbus OH and working at the law firm of Vorys, Sater, Seymour and Pease as the assistant librarian in their law library. Meredith graduated from the Ohio State University with a bachelor's degree in journalism. She was currently pursuing her master's degree in library science from the University of Pittsburgh.
Funeral services will be Tuesday March 29, 2011, 10:30 am at Avance Funeral Home, 4976 Winton Rd., Fairfield, OH 45014. Pastors Jeff Raker and Jennifer Bailey of Cornerstone Church will preside.
Visitation will be Monday March 28, 2011 at the funeral home from 4-8 pm.
