Miriam (Day) Cox, a beloved member of both her family and community, passed away peacefully in her sleep at her home on Wednesday September 2, 2026. Born on June 4, 1939, in Hudson, South Dakota. Miriam lived a life full of warmth, kindness and deep love for those around her. Miriam was the cherished daughter of Harry and Mabel (Peterson) Day. She is preceded in death by her husband Bill, four brothers and a sister. Her marriage to Bill Cox on March 16, 1970, in Canton, SD was a testament to enduring love and partnership. Together they embarked on a shared journey to Minneapolis to Fairfield, OH where they made countless memories and built a life filled with love until Bill passed away on February 2, 2021. Miriam attended the Normana Country School in Lincoln County, South Dakota, walking several miles each day to receive her education. Her academic journey continued with her graduation from Alcester High School in 1956, where she was an active participant in band, FHA and chorus. Although Miriam and Bill did not have children of their own, Miriam was a favorite aunt to her many nephews, nieces and numerous great-nieces and nephews. Her genuine ability to make everyone around her feel special and loved was a rare gift that left a lasting impact on all who had the privilege of knowing her. A service to honor Miriam’s life will be held on Friday September 11, 2026, at 10:00am at Trinity Lutheran Church, 1553 Kinney Ave. Cincinnati, OH 45247. Friends and loved ones are invited to gather to celebrate the life of remarkable woman who touched so many hearts. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to a charity of your choice, in memory of Miriam’s generous spirit and lifelong dedication to helping others.
