Mona, age 77, of Fairfield passed away peacefully at Bethesda North Hospital on Sunday, May 5, 2013 from pulmonary complications. She was the cherished and loving wife of Walter Jackson for 58 years and 11 months. She was also a wonderful and much loved mother and grandmother. She is survived by her husband, Walter; daughter, Sharon (Dan) Colley from Birmingham, AL; granddaughters, Erin Colley and Sarah Bauer both from Cleveland, OH. Mona is also survived by her sister, Marjorie Shamblen; nieces, Kim Burros and Charla Peters; nephews, Michael Pilman, Arthur Gibbs, and Wesley Nicholson. She is preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Mae Farmer; sister, Mabel Marcum; and Mabel's son Bruce Wayne Marcum. Mona was baptised into the Southern Baptist faith as a teenager and was dedicated to her faith and belief for the rest of her life.

Visitation will be Thursday, May 9, 2013 from 5-7 p.m. at the Avance Funeral Home and Crematory, 4976 Winton Rd. Fairfield, OH 45014. Funeral services will be Friday at 10 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Tim Smith officiating.

Her final resting place is at Rest Haven Memorial Park in Evendale, OH. Pastor Tim will say a few words at the mausoleum for friends and family who have gathered for a final goodbye. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to East River Road Baptist Church, 4524 River Rd., Fairfield, OH 45014.
