Age 84 of Hamilton, OH, formerly of Harlan Co., KY passed away, Thursday, January 10, 2008 at Huntington Court Nursing Facility in Hamilton. She was born July 3, 1923 in Harlan Co., KY, the daughter of Abe and Ethel (Hensley) Irvin. On March 26, 1940 she married Ernest Shelley in Keith, KY.
Oneita is survived by her sons, Morris (Louise) Shelley of Hamilton, OH and Marvin Shelley of Cincinnati, OH; 3 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; sisters, Mary Alice (David) Unthank and Jewell Cox. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sister, Virgie Smith; and brother, Abe Irvin, Jr. The family would like to give special thanks to Diane Kuemmerling RN, Angela Willard LSW, and Chaplin John Spring of Hospice of Cincinnati, Daisy RN and Nurses' Aid Nikki of Huntington Court, Robert and Reba Burnette, Lon and Ruby Weaver, Brenda Brown, and the congregation of East River Road Baptist Church.
Graveside services will be 2 p.m., Monday, January 14, 2008 at Rest Haven Cemetery in Harlan Co., KY with Rev. Homer Johnson officiating.
