Orville “Ray” Vaught, age 71, born April 29th, 1953, in Dayton Ohio. Passed away May 31st, 2024, in Fairfield Ohio. Survived by his loving wife Lori Vaught (Griffis), Daughters Kelsey (Ashton)
Lamb and Grey Griffis, Brother in laws Terry (Gerri) Troxell and Charles Troxell, and niece
Melissa (Bruce) Gunning. Loving Pop Pop to Angel, Judah and Jenisis. Great uncle to Sam,
Piper and Paisley. Preceded in death by his parents Mildred and Raymond Vaught and sister
Sandy (Marc) Ackman. Ray served in the United States Marine Corps for 6 years. He was a
lifelong member of the AMVETS post 71 in Fairfield Ohio where he was a post commander for 8
years. He was employed by the City of Fairfield Wastewater Plant for 21 years until he retired
in 2017. Ray loved to ride his Harley motorcycle in which he had many from the age of 17. He
started his own group of riders in 2009 and was President of the Amvets Riders. Guitar was one
of Ray's favorite pastimes. Ray met the love of his life Lori in 2016, the two were inseparable
ever since and married in 2018. Ray never knew a stranger and had a heart as big as his smile.
Ray never got the chance to have a brother, but he has many brothers and sisters in the Amvets organization. He particularly loved spending time with his family that included his brother in laws, and sister-in-law. Ray was very loved and will be dearly missed by many and never forgotten.
Visitation will be 5p.m. – until time of services (7 p.m.)., Friday June 7th, 2024, at Avance Funeral Home & Crematory, 4976 Winton Rd., Fairfield, OH 45014. Memorial donations to be directed to Amvets Post #71 and Hospice of Cincinnati. Condolences may be offered at www.avancefuneralhome.com
