Quentin J. Fields

March 6, 1931 — March 7, 2009

Age 78 of Fairfield, passed away Saturday, March 7, 2009 at Mercy Hospital of Fairfield. He was born March 6, 1931 in London, KY the son of James Davenport and Della Fields. Quentin graduated from Bush High School in 1948 and moved to Hamilton and was employed by National Can Company. On May 17, 1951 he was drafted into the US Army where he proudly served in the 101st Airborne Division which took him to Okinawa and later Korea. While Quentin valiantly served, he was wounded in battle which earned him The Purple Heart and the Combat Infantry Badge (CIB). On January 29, 1955 he married Dorothy Brown in Liberty, IN. From this union two kids were born. He worked for Hamilton Tool, retiring in 1994. Quentin enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, sports and most importantly his grandkids.

He sadly leaves behind his wife, Dorothy Fields; children, Wendell (Angie) Fields and Debbie (Rick) Hensley; grandchildren, Tami (Brian) Gray, and Nathan and Nicholas Fields; cousin, Victor (Carol) Connell; and special Aunt Nora Connell. Quentin was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Shirley Fields; sister, Imogene Yarbrough; and granddaughter, Jamie Fields.

Visitation will be 1 p.m. - until time of service (2 p.m.), Wednesday, March 11, 2009 at the Avance Funeral Home & Crematory, 4976 Winton Rd., Fairfield with Rev. Paul Marcum officiating. Interment will follow at Rose Hill Burial Park. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Hamilton 1010 Eaton Ave., Hamilton, OH 45013. Condolences may be sent at www.avancefuneralhome.com.
