Raymond R. Sullivan Jr. 83 of Fairfield, passed away on January 22, 2015 at University Hospital Cincinnati following an illness. His family was at his side. He is survived by his beloved wife Patricia Joyce Sullivan and devoted children Julie Sullivan McCracken of West Chester, Oh and Michael Sullivan of New Orleans, La. Adored daughter Kathleen Sullivan preceded him in death. Raymond also leaves behind son- in- law Daryl McCracken and his much loved grandchildren, Ethan and Ally McCracken. His greatest joy was spending time with his family. Raymond was born in Brooklyn, NY on September 4, 1931. Beginning in Korea, he proudly served in the United States Air Force and Reserves for 22 years working on the earliest jet aircraft. Following that, he worked as an Aircraft Engineering Manager with GE. After retiring, he started a computer consulting business and was a founding member of Fairfield Footlighters, the city’s first community theater company. Raymond was an active member of the Rotary Club of Fairfield, and spent a great amount of time volunteering for various causes. He was a volunteer firefighter, photographer, and certified scuba diver. Visitation will be held at Avance Funeral Home, 4976 Winton Road, Fairfield, Oh 45014, on Monday, January 26, 2015 from 5-8pm. Funeral service held at the funeral home on Tuesday, January 27, 2015 at 10:30am, and burial to follow at New St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Price Hill Cincinnati. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Kathleen A Sullivan Scholarship Fund, c/o Fairfield Community Foundation, Fairfield Footlighters, and Rotary Club of Fairfield.
