WHISMAN, Raymond “Buddy”

Age 79 of Fairfield, passed away Monday, September 5, 2016 peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family.  He was born July 22, 1937 in Stanton, KY, the son of Lester and Cleta (Allen) Whisman.  On October 25, 1957 Buddy married the love of his life, Marilyn Sue Coleman.  He was a Veteran of the United States Army earning an Honorable Discharge after his Reserve Duty. He worked for General Motors and retired after 32 years of service.  He and best friend O’Dell Brinegar then started their own very successful business they ran together for several more years.  Buddy enjoyed life, and always did things his way. A simple man… His family came first and he was always there for all of their needs, along with appreciating his many friends who where part of his life.  He was a man of Honor, Dignity, and Respect and will be missed by all who knew him.

Mr. Whisman leaves behind his loving wife and soul mate, Marilyn Whisman; devoted children: sons, Rhett Whisman and Dane Whisman; daughter, Jody and son-in-law James Miller; grandson, Caleb Whisman; close friends, Joe Arminio and Charlie Shanks; and many more he has touched along the way.  Buddy was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Shirley Smith; best friend, O’Dell Brinegar; and dear friend, Ralph Smith.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family exactly to his wishes.  He will be laid to rest at Rose Hill Burial Park in Hamilton.  The Avance Funeral Home & Crematory is serving the family.  Condolences may be offered at www.avancefuneralhome.com
