Rev. Burton L. Crosby

CROSBY, Rev. Burton L., of Cincinnati, changed his address to Heaven on September 28, 2015. Burton was born to Newman and Elnora on the Crosby Homestead, Whitehouse, OH on April 25, 1926. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Zelma Jean (Lewis) Crosby; children, Steven Crosby, Michael (Steve McClintock) Crosby, and Christina (Robert) Denterlein; grandchildren, Matthew Denterlein, Mark (Kristen) Denterlein, and Andrew Denterlein; great grandchildren, Jocelynn Shearer and Mason Denterlein. Burton is also survived by his siblings, Dorothy Parsons, Lois Baightel, and Wilbur Crosby. He is preceded in death by his parents, and his brother, Roger Crosby. Burton was an Air Force Cadet in WWII. He graduated from North Central College and Seminary in Naperville, IL. Burton pastored United Methodist Churches in Cardington, Hoytville, Hicksville, Celina and Cincinnati. Due to health issues he retired from the ministry in 1976, he earned his Broker’s license with Sibcy Cline Realtors, and entered real estate as a second career. Visitation will be Saturday October 3, 2015 from 9:30-11 a.m. at the John Wesley United Methodist Church, 1927 W. Kemper Rd. Cincinnati, OH 45240. Celebration of life will begin at 11 a.m. at the church. Condolences may be offered at www.avancefuneralhome.com. Memorial contributions may be given to the John Wesley UM Church, Hospice of Cincinnati, Autism Society, or Narcolepsy Network.
