Richard T. Martin

Richard T. Martin, age 82 of Fairfield, OH passed away November 19, 2011. He was born June 28, 1929 in Syracuse, New York, the son of Richard and Marion Martin. On August 22, 1959, he married his wife Susan Turner Martin, beginning their wonderful journey together for 52 years. Richard proudly served in the US Navy aboard the USS LST601 as Quarter Master Third Class during the Korean War. He was honorably discharged in 1952. In 1960, Richard opened his first of several successful businesses. Richard eventually retired from Columbia Sussex in 1998 after 21 years of service.

He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He exemplified the pursuit of service to God, Family and Country. He will be missed by all who knew him.

Richard leaves behind his loving wife Susan Martin; son and daughter-in-law, Ric and Tonya Martin of Mason, OH; daughter Alisa Martin Johnson of Fairfield, OH; grandchildren, Peyton and Bryce Johnson, Ricky, Faith, Lucas and Tyler Martin.

He was preceded in death by parents and beloved daughter, Nicole Martin.

Visitation will be held at Avance Funeral Home at 4976 Winton Road, Fairfield OH 45014 on Tuesday November 22, 2011 from 5:30-7:30pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Sacred Heart Church at 400 Nilles Road, Fairfield, OH 45014 on Wednesday November 23, 2011 at 10:00am. Burial will follow immediately at Greenwood Cemetery in Hamilton, Ohio.
