Richard Lloyd Poynter

Richard Lloyd Poynter, 69, of West Union, Ohio, passed away on March 23, 2026. He was born on June 25, 1956, in Cincinnati, Ohio, to the late Velma and James Poynter Sr.

He is survived by his children, Kelly (Brian) Myers, Jennifer Poynter, Christopher (Erin) Poynter, Timothy Poynter, and Leanna and Loren Poynter; his six grandchildren, Dedrick, Kaleb, Emileen, Lincoln, Kimberly, and Eliza; his siblings, Loretta Guthrie, Robert Poynter, Karen Werline, and Keith Poynter; and his great granddaughter, Scarlett.

Richard had a lifelong love of music and trains, but nothing brought him more joy than his children and grandchildren. His greatest legacy is the loving family he built—one filled with cherished memories, deep bonds, and the enduring warmth of his presence.

He will be deeply missed but forever remembered by all whose lives he enriched. May his memory be a source of comfort to his family and friends.
