Richard Robert Vanoflen, Ii

Richard Robert VanOflen, II, Hamilton, Ohio, passed away unexpectantly on December 30, 2022, at his residence. The family is deeply saddened. Rick was 49 years old.

He is survived by his daughter, Mya, who is the light of his life. He is also survived by his parents, Rick and Pat VanOflen; his siblings, Jennifer Lacombe (husband Mike), Maureen Hollowell (husband Jeff), and Andy Castle. He will be cherished and remembered by his nephew and niece, Nick and Meagan Lacombe, along with several aunts, uncles, cousins, and of course, the many people who are not blood relatives but family NO LESS.

Rick is preceded in death by his mother, Diane L. States.

Born in Hamilton, Ohio, Rick attended Fairfield High School, Class of 1992, and went on to Hocking College and completed a degree in Air Compressor Technology.   Rick worked as a semi-truck driver for many years. Most recently, he worked for Fox Towing Company. We loved hearing his car recovery stories. Rick enjoyed many years of boating, riding motorcycles, drinking cherry slushies, and making jokes with Mya. Rick’s family and friends will miss his sneaky smile, quick comebacks, and his playful spirit.

There are no words to express how grateful and blessed we are to our family and friends, who were there for us immediately following Rick’s passing. A heartfelt thank you to the Hamilton EMTs for doing everything they could.

A funeral service is scheduled on Wednesday, January 4, 2023, at 3P.M. at Avance Funeral Home & Crematory, 4976 Winton Rd, Fairfield Ohio 45014. Visitation will begin at 1PM until the time of the funeral. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to support Mya VanOflen at PNC Bank.
