Dr. Richard A. Wilcox, loving husband of Teresa E. (nee Grygiel) Wilcox; proud father of the late Judith A. Wilcox, Kimerly J. Wilcox, and Richard T. Wilcox; adoring grandfather of the late Jason A. Luggen; and doting great-grandfather of Lauren A. Luggen and Tanner A. R. He was born June 19, 1923 in Cleveland, Ohio, the son of Chauncey D. and Gertrude A. (Taylor) Wilcox. On August 7, 1942 he married Teresa Grygiel in Chicago, Illinois. Richard served his country during WWII in the United States Army Air Corps. There he flew over 40 combat missions as a bombardier. 2nd Lt. Wilcox was awarded: the distinguished Flying Cross; Air Medal with 5 oak leaf clusters; and the Asiatic Campaign ribbon with 6 battle stars.
