Richard "Dick" Olney, age 60 of Cincinnati, passed away suddenly at Mercy Hospital of Fairfield on Saturday, April 24, 2004. He was born October 26, 1943 in Holmes County, OH, the son of Lloyd and Marian (Widdowson) Olney. On August 4, 1979 he married Barbara Orewiler in Mt. Vernon, OH. Dick graduated from L.I.F.E. Bible College, and spent 25 years as an ordained minister.
He enjoyed helping people, especially young clergy. When others entered the ministry and sometimes became frustrated, he was always there to encourage and to promote optimism through faith. His dedication to others was still apparent even after his death as he chose to donate his organs to benefit those still living.
Dick was a man who also enjoyed humor in his own ways. He enjoyed leisure time, especially to watch his Cleveland Browns. By many he will be remembered by saying, "If I don't see you again, I'll catch you goin' up!"
He is remembered by his loving wife, Barb; children, Richard "Rich", Tim, Isaac, Rachel, Aaron and Jared; brother, Olin Olney; sisters, Janet Gunner and Anne Hawbecker; and grandchildren, Stephanie, Nathaniel and Kylie.
