Rick Joseph Serge

Rick Joseph Serge (71) of Fairfield, beloved son of the late Joseph Serge and Mary Lou (nee Nichols) Serge and brother of the late Joseph Paul (Molly) Serge, Kathy Serge, and the late Timothy Serge and cherished uncle of Lauren Serge, passed away on Monday, May 16, 2022.

Rick graduated from The Ohio State University with a degree in education and completed his master’s degree in counseling at Xavier University. He worked as a teacher and eventual guidance counselor in the Fairfield School District for 35 years and taught in Germany for two years.

Rick was gifted with a bright personality and a generous heart. He was an avid fan of The Ohio State Buckeyes and attended many games during his life.

He was a lover of animals, particularly his cats, and volunteered for several years at the Cincinnati Zoo. Rick was always caring for others, and he frequently volunteered at The Vineyard Church.

Rick touched many lives, especially his dear friends, neighbors, students, and coworkers.

Rick’s kindness, joy, and zest for life will always be remembered.
