Rita Jo "Joey" Pochard

Rita Jo "Joey" Pochard, age 71, of Fairfield, passed away Friday, July 25, 2025 at West Chester Hospital. She was born June 30, 1954, in Hamilton, the daughter of Bill and Dorothy (Mann) Pochard. Rita was a graduate of both University of Dayton (chemistry) and Miami University (nursing). She was a nurse for many years in Cincinnati, most recently as a Wound Care Specialist at Provident and University Hospitals. Rita was a Girl Scout and leader for over 40 years. She was an active member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church serving on the Parish Council. She loved singing in the choir and was instrumental in starting the Sacred Heart blood pressure ministry. Her dogs were her greatest joy. She loved spoiling her fur babies, especially Sarah and Abby. She is survived by three brothers: Bill (Peggy) Pochard of Port Orchard, Washington, Allen Pochard of Hamilton and Tony (Cheryl) Pochard of Hamilton. She was preceded in death by her parents. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 400 Nilles Rd. Fairfield, OH 45014 on Thursday, August 14 at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow at St. Stephen's Cemetery.
