Robert D. Boven

Robert (Bobby) Boven passed away at his residence on November 21, 2004. He was born in Detroit, Michigan on October 4, 1961. Bob is survived by his parents, Robert D. and Evelyn J. (Grube) Boven of Hamilton; a sister and brother-in-law, Lori and Bill Wingeleth; two nieces and one nephew, Megan, Bobby and Ann Wingeleth, all of Lyman, Wyoming. He is also survived by his aunts and uncles, Donald and Charlotte Boven, Ted and Patricia Schaafsma, Willis and Barbara Morren and Sharon Grube, and several cousins. Bob was preceded in death by his grandparents, Thomas and Jessie Boven, Donald and Gertrude Grube, an uncle, Roger Boven, and cousin, Tom R. Boven.

While growing up, Bob loved and played many sports plus he was extremely active in the Boy Scouts while living in Modesto, California in the 1970's. As a Boy Scout, he attained the rank of Life Scout with Troop 76 in Modesto. Bob graduated from Sentinel High School in Missoula, Montana in 1980, where he was an outstanding wrestler. He loved animals and took great pride in his two beloved cats. Following high school graduation, Bob worked for Champion International at the Missoula facility. In 1985, Bob moved to Hamilton.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, November 27, 2004, at 11:00 a.m. at First United Methodist Church, 225 Ludlow Street, Hamilton, OH 45011, with Pastor Kenn Barton officiating. The family will receive friends at 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. For many years, our family has been active in the local chapter of the National Alliance for the Mentally Ill.
