CORNELIUS, Robert G.
Age 87 of Hamilton, passed away peacefully, Saturday, January 15, 2011 at his home with family and friends by his side. Robert was born on September 28, 1923, the son of Robert and Edna (Joyce) Cornelius. He married his wife of 60 years, Ilena M. Smith on January 6, 1951 in Yellow Springs, OH.
Robert was a devoted member to many community organizations including; Hugh L. Bates Lodge, No. 686 F.&A.M.; Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite; Hamilton Chapter No. 21, Royal Arch Masons; Hamilton Council No. 19, Royal and Select Masons; Hamilton Commandery No. 41, Knights Templar; Washington Chapter No. 195, Order Easter Star; and Grange, Zonings Appeals Board.
Robert is survived by his wife; daughters, Eggy (Sam) Casey, Marty Smith, and Karen (Rex) White; brother, Chester (Shirley) Cornelius; grandchildren, Krista, Alan, and Heidi White, Barbara and Robert Casey, and Amy Smith; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be 5 - 8 p.m. Thursday, January 20, 2011 at Avance Funeral Home & Crematory, 4976 Winton Road, Fairfield with Masonic Services beginning at 7:30 p.m.. Services will be 11 a.m. Friday, January 21, 2011 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Butler County 4-H Junior Fair Fund, 1802 Princeton Road, Hamilton, OH 45011, Shriners Burn Institute, 3229 Burnet Ave, Cincinnati 45229 and/or Hospice of Cincinnati, 4310 Cooper Road, Cincinnati, OH 45242.
