It is with profound sadness that the family of Robert Salcedo announce his peaceful passing on March 1st, 2025 at the age of 69. Robert will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 47 years, Diane; children: Christopher and his Wife Ana, and 3 children; Elisa, Julius, and Anthony. Nickolas and his wife Amy, and 3 children; Bella, Emily, and Olivia. Michael and his wife Amanda, and 3 children; Lena, Morgan, and Gwen, and his brothers, Sergio and Ricardo, and sister, Leticia; as well as numerous relatives and friends. Already passed on are his loving parents Jesus and Maria, and his brothers, Joaquin and Anthony. Robert was born on May 1, 1955 in Guadalajara, Mexico and relocated to the south side of Chicago when he was in Kindergarten. He attended Catholic school for his entire scholastic career until his graduation as a senior in high school at St. Pius in 1974. He attended Lewis University for computer classes, and shortly after enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. While he was on active duty, he married the love of his life, Diane Chavez, from Gary, Indiana. They lived as newlyweds in Buford, South Carolina for 1 year until he was sent overseas to Okinawa, Japan for 1 year before making it back home stateside to North Carolina. That is where he finished out his enlistment before going back home to Chicago. Robert and Diane got their own apartment on the Northside, and started their lives together. He was a computer programer post military for over 23 years that moved him all over the country coast to coast, until finally retiring in 2017. At that time, Robert and Diane were in the Bay Area of California, and then came back to their sons locally near Cincinnati, Ohio. Robert loved watching ball games, rooting for the Bears, Bulls, Cubs, and Blackhawks. He loved his family most of all, and was surrounded by them in his last few years. Visitation will be held at St. Suzanna Catholic Church 616 Reading Rd., Mason, OH 45040 on Tuesday, March 18, 2025 beginning at 10:00am and a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00am, with the burial service and full military honors to be held at Dayton National Cemetery at 2:00pm.
