Robert E. Sullivan

Age 81 of Fairfield passed away peacefully Thursday, May 8, 2008. Born August 13, 1926 in Parkersburg, WV to William Walter and Frances (Keenan) Sullivan.

Robert was preceded in death by his wife of 30 years Rosa (nee Allen) and his long term companion Betty Cecil. Robert is survived by his brother, Roger Sullivan and his wife Blanche of Davis, CA, their 6 children and 9 grandchildren, as well as an extended family in the Cincinnati area. Bob was raised in Cincinnati and attended Hughes High School. He was an Army veteran of WWII; serving in the Philippines with the Medical Division 186 Infantry and was awarded several commendations. After the service he graduated from the Miami University of Ohio. Bob was a high school history teacher and coach for many years and later worked in real estate. He is remembered for his passion for athletics and physical fitness. He was a life-long member of the YMCA, competing at the championship level in handball; he also enjoyed tennis, jogging and swimming, as well as team sports.

Visitation will be 9:30 a.m. - until time of Mass (10:30 a.m.), Thursday, May 15 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Fairfield, with Fr. Larry Tharp, Celebrant.
