Roger Allen Vennefron

Roger A. Vennefron, age 88 of Fairfield, loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather died peacefully at home Wednesday, March 13th, 2024.  He was born on October 9th, 1935, in Hamilton, Ohio, the son of Alice (Moorhead) Vennefron and Nicholas Vennefron. Roger married the love of his life Judy in 1960 and settled down to raise a family.  He was an active member of St. Clair Baptist Church where he held several offices through the years.  Roger was perhaps best known for being a fixture in the Fairfield, and Ross communities for owning and operating Fairfield Hardware from 1969 until 1984 and then Ross Hardware from 1985 until 2023.  His smiling face and kind words would greet anyone who stepped through the doors of his stores, and he built a thriving business through the years that not only enhanced his community but also provided well for his family.  On family trips out of state no matter where they traveled, Roger would run into person after person that he knew.  He was a businessman with kindness and integrity who was well liked in his community.

He is survived by his son Alan of Fairfield, Ohio, grandson Leo Hauser of Cincinnati, Ohio, and great granddaughters Mariah Hauser of Xenia, Ohio, Erin Hauser of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Alyiah Hauser of Cincinnati, Ohio; son Arlan, his wife Lynn, and granddaughter Ainsley of McKinney, Texas; son Aaron, his wife Melissa of Hamilton, Ohio, grandson Tyler, his wife Kayla, great grandson Hayden, and great granddaughter Navy of West Chester, Ohio, grandson Nicholas, his wife Kylie, and great granddaughter Tessa of Hamilton, Ohio; Sister-in-Law Patricia Hall of Hamilton, Ohio, niece Tanya (Hall) Crail, and her children Joey and Allie of San Antonio, Texas, and nephew Mark Hall of Orange, California.  He is preceded in death by his wife Judy, sons Adam Kerry and Abraham Eli, and his parents.

Funeral services will be held at St. Clair Avenue Baptist Church, 695 St. Clair Avenue, Hamilton, Ohio, 45015 on Wednesday, March 20, 2024, at 2:00pm with Reverend Orville Roach officiating. Interment will follow at Rose Hill Burial Park.  Visitation will be held from 12:00pm to 2:00pm at St. Clair Avenue Baptist Church.  Memorials may be made to the Church.  The family will accept condolences at www.avancefuneralhome.com
