Ronald Sherman Howard

Age 74 of Fairfield passed Wednesday, June 10, 2009 at Hospice of Blue Ash. He was born November 1, 1934, the son of Charles and Dorothy Howard in Claremont, New Hampshire. Ronald graduated from Concord High School, Concord, NH in 1952. He received a B.S. in Civil Engineering from New England College in 1957. Ronald joined the Army Reserve from 1958 to 1964. He worked for General Electric from 1957 to 1959, Armco Steel from 1960 to 1991 and Hammacher Schlemmer from 1992 to 1999. Ronald was a member of Sons of American Revolution, General Society of Mayflower Descendants, and a charter member of the Rolling Hills Baptist Church, Fairfield.

Ronald is survived by his wife, Barbara (nee Melvin) Howard; son, John E. Howard of Severna Park, Maryland; daughter, Leslie Howard of Encinitas, California; and niece, Susan Burton of Sandy Hook, Kentucky. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be 12noon until time of service (1pm), Saturday, June 13, 2009, at the Avance Funeral Home & Crematory, Fairfield. Burial will follow at the Butler County Memorial Park with Pastor Danny Rollins and Dr. Don Gillis officiating. Memorials may be made to Rolling Hills Baptist Church, American Cancer Society, American Heart Association or Hospice of Cincinnati.
