Ronald William Rakel

RAKEL Ronald W.  – age 74 of Cincinnati passed away on Wednesday, March 2, 2022.  He was born October 31, 1947, to the late Irwin and Margaret Rakel (nee Bettner).  On June 26, 1970, he married Catherine Meyer.  Ron was a longtime member of St. John Neumann Catholic Church.   He is survived by his wife Cathy Rakel; children Scott Rakel and Kelli (Jason) Schwartz; grandchildren Samuel Rakel and Dean Schwartz; brother-in-law Jim Campbell; also survived by numerous family and friends.  He is preceded in death by his parents and his sister Abigail Campbell.  Visitation will be held Tuesday, March 8, 2022, from 9-11AM at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 12191 Mill Rd., Cincinnati, OH, 45240.  Mass of Christian Burial to begin at 11AM with Bishop Joseph Binzer officiating.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent in memory of Ron to The Good Samaritan Hospital Foundation to support cancer research, 375 Dixmyth Avenue, Cincinnati, OH, 45220 or by visiting www.gshfoundation.com/donate.  Online condolences may be left for the family by visiting www.avancefuneralhome.com
