Ronald Lee Walters

WALTERS Ronald Lee, age 82, of Springdale, OH went home to be with the Lord on June 8, 2014. He was born on April 22, 1932, in West Frankfort, IL, the first son of the late Thomas Leroy and Stella (Holmes) Walters. He graduated from Frankfort High School in West Frankfort, IL, class of 1950. Upon graduation Ron entered the Cincinnati Bible Seminary in Price Hill, now called Cincinnati Christian University, where he met and married Loraine (Maxwell) Walters. They would have been married for 59 years on September 24, 2014. Ron was a full time minister for over 60 years and loved serving God and people. Part of his heart and calling was in serving small struggling churches to help to restore them to growing healthy churches. Ron served in 3 student ministries and as pastor in eleven ministries in OH, IL, MI, and IN. In the Cincinnati area he served at Lockland Christian Church, Mason Church of Christ (now Christ’s Church at Mason), Madisonville Christian Church, and Monroe Christian Church (now Lifeway Christian Church). He loved to travel, play golf, and the Cincinnati Reds. Ron is survived by his beloved wife, Loraine (Maxwell) Walters of Cincinnati; loving children, Rhonda (Les) Morrison of Clinton Twp., MI and Thomas (Julie) Walters of Gardner, KS; grandchildren, Bryce and Evan Morrison, Elizabeth, Emily, and Hannah Walters. He is preceded in death by his brother, Donald Gene Walters. Visitation will be Tuesday June 10, 2014 from 6-8 p.m. at the Avance Funeral Home and Crematory, 4976 Winton Rd., Fairfield, OH 45014. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. with David Hargrave officiating at the Fairfield Church of Christ, 745 Symmes Rd., Fairfield, OH 45014.
