Ronald J. Zeis, age 72 of Hamilton passed away Monday April 3, 2006 at Vitas Hospice at Ft. Hamilton after a long battle with emphysema. He was born July 22, 1933 in St. Bernard, OH, the son of George and Antoinette (Von Hagel) Zeis. On January 25, 1954 he married Hazel Felts in Aiken, S.C. Ronald served his country in the US Army until retiring in 1973 achieving the rank of Master Sergeant. He was a member of St. Maximillian-Kolbe Catholic Church in Liberty Township. Other than spending time with his family he enjoyed nothing more than reading, fishing, and traveling.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Hazel Zeis; daughters, Cathy Hale, Teresa (Larry) Irwin, Patricia (Keith) Schook and Jennifer (Mark) Nelson; son, Ronald G. (Michelle) Zeis; brothers, Richard (JoAnn) Zeis and George (Martha) Zeis; sister, Judy Uhl; 11 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; and many other beloved family members and friends. Ronald was preceded in death by his parents; brother Herbert Zeis; sister-in-law Lucy Zeis; and brother-in-law Ed Uhl.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m., Friday April 7, 2006 at the St. Maximillian-Kolbe Catholic Church, 5720 Hamilton-Mason Rd., Liberty Township, OH 45011. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m., Thursday April 6 at the Avance Funeral Home & Crematory, 4976 Winton Rd., Fairfield, OH 45014. Memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice.
