Ruby (Reid) Gessendorf
August 26, 1922 — August 15, 2015
Age 92 of Hamilton passed away Saturday, August 15, 2015 at Berkley Square. She was born August 26, 1922 in London, KY the daughter of James and Sarah (Slusher) Reid. On April 23, 1977 she married Guy Lee Gessendorf in Hamilton. Ruby was a devoted member of the First Baptist Church of Hamilton, serving in the choir, Deaconess Ministry, and the Missionary Circle.
She leaves behind her daughter, Sandra K. Lunsford; step-daughter Betty Bowling; siblings, Kenneth Reid, James Reid, Goldie Bales, Carol Fraizer, Judy Smith, and Louise Parson; 5 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. Ruby was preceded in death by her parents; first husband Charles Grimes; baby daughter, Brenda Renetta Grimes, brother Pearl P. Reid; sisters, Opal Goode, Jewell Keithley, Garnett Gentry and Sylvia Blue; husband, Guy Gessendorf; and son, Ronnie K. Grimes.
Visitation will be 12 Noon – until time of service (1 p.m.), Friday, August 21, 2015 at the Avance Funeral Home & Crematory, 4976 Winton Rd., Fairfield with Rev. William C. Brantingham and Dr. Daniel C. Clemens officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Hamilton.
