Ruby Evelyn Weaver

Ruby E. (nee Wagner) Weaver beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend passed away on Saturday July 18, 2026, at Gateway Springs Health Campus. Born on October 5, 1930, in Laurel County, Kentucky. She attended Bush High School and was so proud of being a cheerleader in 1947 for Bush High School. Ruby married the love of her life Alonzo Weaver on May 19, 1948. They were married till his death in February 2017. Together they built a home where love and laughter were abundant, creating cherished memories that would last a lifetime. Her children Sandy Wyatt, Brenda (Ron) Brown, Larry (Barb) Weaver, Sheila (Barry) Duckworth and Tim (Kim) Weaver mourn her passing, but celebrate the legacy she leaves behind. She was a devoted grandmother to Jeff, Jeremy, Leslie, Matt, Stacia, Emily, Chad, Kristin, Lauren, Ashley, Chris, Andrea, Nichole and TJ. Ruby also leaves 34 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great-grandchildren. Preceding her in death are her husband Alonzo Weaver, parents Luther and Geraldine Wagner, her brothers Damon Wagner, Hobert Wagner, Luther Wagner Jr., Troy Wagner, Eldon Wagner, sister Winnie Jones, son-in-law Ron Brown, great-great grandchildren Otis and Virgil Marcum. She also leaves 2 sisters Wanda (Fred) Marcum and Helen (Claude- deceased) Slusher. Many nieces and nephews also mourn her passing. A founding member of East River Road Baptist Church since 1951, Ruby was deeply involved in her church community. She held numerous roles over the years, but her heart was always in the music department. Her love for gospel music was evident, as she sang throughout her life, bringing joy to those around her, even in her final days. Ruby was an avid gardener, delighting in canning and freezing her harvest. She was a great cook and baker. Her kitchen was always filled with the aroma of love her table with the warmth of fellowship. Known for her quick wit and infectious humor, Ruby never met a stranger. Her home was a haven of hospitality where everyone was welcoming, and laughter was a staple. The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Gateway Springs Health Campus for their years of love and care as well as Queen City Hospice for their kindness during Ruby’s last week. Ruby Weaver’s legacy is one of love, laughter and unwavering faith. Her spirit will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her. She will be greatly missed but fondly remembered by all. A visitation will be held on August 10, 2026 from 11:30am until the time of service (12:30pm) at Avance Funeral Home & Crematory, 4976 Winton Rd. Fairfield, OH 45014. Burial to follow at Crown Hill Memorial Park.
