Ruth Bain, age 88 of Fairfield Township, passed away on Monday, December 16, 2013. Ruth was born January 25, 1925 in Hamilton, Ohio to the late Arthur and Elizabeth Merz. In 1948 in Minneapolis, Minnesota she married her late husband, Robert Bain, who preceded her in death in 1981. Ruth was a member of St. Julie Billiart Catholic Parish. She also worked at the gift shop at Fort Hamilton Hospital and the Bargain Bungalow on Main Street.
She is survived by her children John (Jenny) Bain, Tom Bain, Terry Kuhl, Mary Motzer, Nancy (Robert) Miller, Betsy (Steve) Wiggins, Bonnie Bain, Sally (Don McIntosh) Bain and Kathy (Dwight) Newberry; her sister Kathleen Witt; her grandchildren Sheri, Angela, Amy, Missy, Ryan, Erin, Stephen, Amber, Brandon and Matthew; 12 great grandchildren with two on the way; her devoted friends Mili Cribbs and Helen Marsh; also survived by numerous friends and family. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her son Bill Bain, her brothers Arthur Merz and James Merz, her sister Elaine Bock, and her son-in-law Ralph Kuhl. The family would like to extend a special thank you to VITAS Hospice and Susan Ortolf for the care and compassion they showed towards Ruth and the family.
A visitation will be held Thursday, December 19, 2013 from 6-8PM at the Avance Funeral Home and Crematory, 4976 Winton Rd., Fairfield 45014. Funeral service will be held Friday morning at 10AM at the funeral home with burial to follow at St. Stephen's Cemetery in Hamilton.
