Samuel D. Day

Age 66 of Fairfield Township passed away Sunday, May 13, 2007 at Mercy Hospital of Fairfield. She was born August 1, 1940 in Dorton, KY, the daughter of Troy and Ida (Childers) Sanders. On December 18, 1957 she married Edmond C. Sowards in Clintwood, VA. Andra taught in the Fairfield City Schools for 30 years, until her retirement in 1998.
She is survived by her husband, Edmond Sowards; sons, Clark (Debbie) Sowards and Rex Sowards; grandchildren, Jason, Kevin, Summer, and Max; great-grandchild, River James; and sisters, Alka Ison, Orchid Wright, and Mary Stidham. Andra was preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Aileen Ison.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m., Wednesday, May 16, 2007 at the Avance Funeral Home & Crematory, 4976 Winton Rd., Fairfield with Clark Sowards officiating. Interment will follow at Rose Hill Burial Park. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m., Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to American Heart Association or Diabetes Foundation.
