Scott Douglas Courtney
February 3, 1969 — July 23, 2009
Age 40 of Cincinnati, passed away unexpectedly on July 23, at his residence. Loving son of Sharon Ann (nee Richards) Courtney; John Douglas Courtney and Step-mother Eudora J. "DJ" Courtney; brother of Sheryl Lynn Courtney; nephew of Ralph and Gary Richards, Jack and Tom Courtney, Cliff Brooks, and Wilma Caldwell; cousin to many; beloved owner of the late Chloe the cat. He was preceded in death by grandparents Olive and Ed Richards and Minnie Courtney Floyd; uncles Bob Richards and John Caldwell; aunt Jane Brooks; and step-brother Dale Wayne.
Scott was a graduate of Sycamore High School Class of 1987 and UC at Raymond Walters Class of 1998 with an Associates Degree of Applied Science. His passion for music led to an 11 year volunteer D.J. position on WAIF radio's The Metal Connection (Death Metal Music Show). Over his lifetime, Scott had a deep affection for animals. He enjoyed hockey, fishing, rock climbing, rollerblading, racquetball, and body building; and was a big fan of hockey, football and NASCAR.
The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. - until time of memorial service (6 p.m.), Saturday, August 8, 2009 at the Avance Funeral Home & Crematory, 4976 Winton Rd., Fairfield.
