Sharon Ann Bjurstrom

Bjurstrom, Sharon Ann (Sherrie,) age 69, died unexpectedly on Friday, October 19, 2012. Sherrie was born to Ethel and Alvar Bjurstrom in Brecksville, Ohio on February 18, 1943. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Marietta College and a Master of Education degree from Xavier University. She has been a dedicated teacher at several Cincinnati schools, including Princeton and Mt. Healthy, for over 45 years. At the time of her passing, she was still teaching at Lockland HS, where she was a favorite among the students and the staff. In addition to teaching, Sherrie enjoyed dancing, gardening, sewing, and cooking. She was also a gifted quilter. Sherrie and her husband, Dr. Clyde Brown, enjoyed hosting numerous international exchange students for many years. They traveled the world together to see their extended student families while exploring different countries and cultures. Though Sherrie loved all of these things, there was nothing that gave her more happiness than spending time with her family, especially her children and her beautiful grandchildren, Jacob and Samantha.

Sherrie was preceded in death by her parents; she is survived by her husband, Dr. Clyde Brown, her beloved daughter, Kirsten Bjurstrom-Wulff, her grandchildren, Jacob and Samantha, her step-children, Taylor (Kyle) Anthony- Brown , and Jordan Anthony- Brown, her mother and father-in-law, Betty and Peter Brown , her sister in law, Lynn Brown, and her brother in law, Danny Brown. She is also survived by countless friends, including her best friend of 45 years, Lindy Blankenbuehler.

To honor Sherrie, there will be a Celebration of Life Ceremony on Thursday, November 1, 2012 at Lockland High School from 6-7:30. The school is located at 249 W. Forrer Ave., Lockland, Ohio, 45215.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Jacob and Samantha Bjurstrom Education Fund at First Financial Bank.
