Shirlie Coleman

Shirlie Smith Coleman, 89, of Hendersonville, TN (formerly of Fairfield, Ohio) passed away on Thursday, March 23, 2023 at Hendersonville Medical Center. Born on March 3, 1934 in Mt. Salem, KY to the late Carroll and Lizzie Lucas Smith. She is the widow to the late Ernest Ray Coleman. She was a member of Mt. Salem Baptist Church.

Survivors include two children, Britta Coleman of Hendersonville, TN and Edwin Ray Coleman and his wife, Tammy, of Russell Springs, KY; one sister, Francis Russell of Danville; four grandchildren, Heather Byrd, Tiffany Ward (George), Erica Rae Kemper (Ron) and Edwin Ray Coleman, Jr. (Michelle); thirteen great-grandchildren, Hunter Wence, Aidan Daniel, Ryder, Violet and Finn Ward, Aaron Byrd,  Alison Byrd, Max, Avery and Connor Kemper, Ophelia and Bishop Coleman.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Ray Coleman; parents, Carroll and Lizzie Smith; one grandson, Jason Petry; and two infant sisters who passed at birth, three brothers and seven additional sisters.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, March 29, 2023 at 12:00 p.m. at Buffalo Springs Cemetery in Stanford, KY.

Active Pallbearers: Ray Coleman, Ray Coleman, Jr., Aidan Daniel, Hunter Wence, Connor Kemper and Max Kemper.

Honorary Pallbearers: Doug Smith, Zeke Smith, George Ward and Bill Dinger.
