Stephen Craig Swisshelm

Stephen Craig Swisshelm, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away Thursday April 24, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter and devotion.  Steve was the cherished husband of Barbara (nee Cox), with whom he shared a lifetime of memories and unwavering partnership. He was the proud father of James, Amy (Joseph) Barrett, Michael (Rachel), and William. Also survived by his grandchildren Diana (Anthony), Jacob, Haleigh, Brady and great-granddaughter Kelsie.  Steve is a graduate of Hillsboro High School where he played football and baseball. He went on to graduate from The Christ Hospital Radiologic Technologist program working at various doctor’s offices and hospitals. He continued his education and retired from the University of Cincinnati Hospital Cath Lab. He was known not only for his professional excellence but also for his sharp wit and sense of humor that could brighten any room.  Steve was a great father, the kind of dad anyone would be lucky to have. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed participating himself or coaching his wife’s softball team or his son’s little league team. He loved to play golf and to cheer on his children or grandchildren form the sidelines at their many school and sports events. He was also an insatiable reader, especially of mysteries, thrillers, and detective stories.  Above all, Steve was a family man. His strength, support, and humor left a lasting impact on everyone who knew him. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered and loved. A life well lived, a heart well-loved, Rest in peace Steve. Visitation will take place on Wednesday April 30, 2025, from 10am-11am at Avance Funeral Home and Crematory, 4976 Winton Rd. Fairfield, OH 45014. Funeral Service will be directly following the visitation at 11am with Pastor Cecil Day officiating. Burial at Highland Cemetery in Fort Mitchell, Kentucky.
