RAMSEY
Steven age 67, of Springfield Twp. passed suddenly on October 5, 2012. He was born on March 12, 1945 in Hamilton, Ohio to James and Magnolia (nee Washington) Ramsey.
Steve married Barbara A. Evans in Portsmouth, VA in 1966, to this union were born; Pamela Palmer Berry and Steven Scott Ramsey. He is the loving grandfather to Kristopher "Kris" Palmer and dear great grandfather to Kayden. Steve is also survived by his siblings, Tom Ramsey, Louise (Leonard) Veal, Dorothy (Sam) Allmond, Albert (Carol) Ramsey; sisters in law, Carol Ramsey, Ann Ramsey, and Doris Ramsey and a host of relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Marguerite (James) Curlee; brothers, Lucius Ramsey, Henry Ramsey, and James Ramsey; sister in law Girlie Ramsey.
Steve worked for the Middletown Journal as a photo lithographer; he then was employed by the Norfolk Southern Railroad as a conductor until his retirement in 2009. Steve was also owner of Evans Ramsey Floral and Gifts with Barb from 1993-2010 when they both retired. After his graduation from Garfield High School in Hamilton, OH he enlisted in the Navy from 1964-1968. During his tenure in the Navy he served in Vietnam with a crypto-clearance in communications aboard the communication ship the USS Taconic. Steve was a member of the Elisha #106 P.H.F. & A.M. where he attained his 32nd degree.
Visitation will be Friday October 12, 2012 from 4-6 p.m. at the Avance Funeral Home and Crematory, 4976 Winton Rd. Fairfield, OH 45014.
After the service at the funeral home, the family will join you at a Repass for Mr.Steven Ramsey at Precious Lil Angels School, 924 Halesworth Drive, Forest Park, OH 45240. Directions are as follows, South on Winton Rd., Winton becomes Mill continue on to Kemper Rd and turn left. Take Kemper to Geneva Rd., Left on Geneva to Halesworth Road. Right on Halesworth, the school will be on the left. The Repass will be in the Gymnasium. If you should become lost please call Henry 513-907-4028 or Don 513-708-3402.
