Thelma Brown

Age 86 of Fairfield passed away Monday, April 6, 2009 at Vitas Hospice-Drake Center. She was born January 17, 1923 in Corbin, KY, the daughter of Francis and Julia (Pemberton) Archer. She was a member of the North Fairfield Baptist Church and was attended Rolling Hills Baptist Church with her daughter most recently. Thelma was also a member of the Washington Chapter No. 195, O.E.S.

She leaves behind her loving daughter, Patsy Woods; devoted granddaughter and caretaker, Penny New; great-grandchildren, Seth, Tyler, Dakotah and Sydney; and sisters, Mary Lou Stewart and Billie Smith. Thelma was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Warren Brown; and brothers, Roy and Sherman Archer.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Dr. Elizabeth Pastor, Vitas Hospice and the Fairfield Fire Department for their love, care and concern.

Committal services will be 11 a.m., Thursday, April 9, 2009 at Rose Hill Burial Park Chapel. Interment will follow at the burial park. Visitation will be 5 p.m. - until time of Order of Eastern Star services followed by funeral services (7 p.m.), Wednesday at the Avance Funeral Home & Crematory, 4976 Winton Rd., Fairfield.
