Thomas F. Cox

November 10, 1917 — July 31, 2006

Age 88 of Fairfield passed away Monday July 31, 2006 at Jewish Hospital-Kenwood. He was born November 10, 1917 in Campbellsburg, KY, the son Owen and Marie (Haggard) Cox. On June 7, 1941 Tom married June R. Burke in Cincinnati, OH. He served his country during WWII in the US Army where he was a recipient of many decorations and citations. Mr. Cox retired from Standard Publishing, Mt. Healthy in 1982. Tom was a founding member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, lifetime member of VFW #1069, and Father Roetelle Council Knights of Columbus.

Tom is survived by his children, Thomas M. (Rebecca) Cox, Judith M. (David) Huddleson, Joyce E. (Randal) Thomas, and Jeanette E. Hoskins; grandchildren, David M. Huddleson, Michael D. Huddleson, Christopher R. Thomas, Stephanie N. Thomas, Katharine D. Cox, Thomas W. Cox, Emily R. Hoskins, Erin E. Hoskins; great-grandchildren, Luke R. Thomas; and sister, Martha J. Cox. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, June R. Cox; and 5 brothers.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m., Friday August 4, 2006 at Sacred Heart Church, 400 Nilles Rd., Fairfield with Father Larry Tharp, Celebrant. Burial will follow at Gate of Heaven. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m., Thursday at the Avance Funeral Home & Crematory, 4976 Winton Rd., Fairfield. Memorials may be made to the June Rose Cox Memorial Fund of the Fairfield Community Foundation, 5350 Pleasant Ave., Fairfield, OH 45014. Also, the family will accept condolences at www.avancefuneralhome.com.
