Thomas Warren Mcguire

Died peacefully on August 25, 2010 of cancer. Born in Hamilton, Ohio, on October 25, 1948, the only child of Fairy and Ethel Carter McGuire. He was a long time member of Westwood Presbyterian Church in Hamilton and most recently became a member of Tri-County Church of the Nazarene. As a youngster, Tom held the home run record for the West Side Little League of Hamilton in the early sixties. Tom was also an accomplished musician and well respected for his work on the accordion which he played professionally for many years. Tom graduated from Taft High School in Hamilton in 1967. In 1990 he graduated from the University of Cincinnati as a registered pharmacist. During his career, he was employed by several pharmacies and hospitals, most recently at Good Samaritan Hospital in Cincinnati. As a professional, he was always respected and admired for the quality of his work. He also traveled and lived in Florida and South Carolina where he enjoyed the weather and the golf courses. He was an exceptional golfer and enjoyed the times he spent with his golfing friends, especially Ed and Wayne. Tom is survived by several uncles, aunts and cousins in the Hamilton area as well as those in Florida, Tennessee and Alaska. Tom also leaves many good friends, golfing buddies and co-workers. A special thank you goes out to Tom's co-workers for their support and kindness and to Beth, Kim, Anita and Ashley for their special care and attention to his wishes during his illness. Tom will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him and remembered for his generosity, kind heart and wonderful smile. Funeral services will be held at Avance Funeral Home in Fairfield on Monday, August 30, 2010 at 10:30 AM. A visitation will be held at the funeral home on Sunday, August 29th from 2 to 4 PM.
