Viola Doris (nee Rosenbalm) Kolde, age 86, passed away peacefully on Tuesday May 5, 2026. She was born on March 12, 1940.
Doris was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Roger Kolde, with whom she shared many happy years after meeting at a square dance. Together they built a life centered around family, friendship, travel, and laughter.
She retired from Standard Textile in Cincinnati, where she worked as a Customer Service Representative. After retirement, Doris and Roger enjoyed traveling, wintering in Sarasota, Florida, and spending time playing card games with family and neighbors. Doris was an avid reader and a devoted word search enthusiast.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charley Lee Rosenbalm and Hester Charlotte Farmer Rosenbalm, along with several siblings: Roy Rosenbalm, Henry Rosenbalm, Agnes Bowling, Lawrence Rosenbalm, Claude Rosenbalm, and Ruth Rosenbalm.
Doris is survived by her loving children: Tony (Jodie) Brown, Sherry (Jack) Pladdys, Delbert (Diane) Brown, Curtis Brown, and April (Terry) Phillips. She also leaves behind 16 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren who will cherish her memory.
She is also survived by her siblings: Floyd Rosenbalm, Kenneth (Bobbie) Rosenbalm, Iva Lewis, and Earl (Carol) Rosenbalm, along with many extended family members and dear friends.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, at Avance Funeral Home, 4976 Winton Rd, Fairfield, OH 45014. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 14, 2026, at Fairfield West Baptist Church, 5345 Muskopf Rd, Fairfield, OH 45014 with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. and the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Arlington Memorial Gardens.
