Virgil Smith

October 6, 1933 — May 22, 2007

Age 73 of Fairfield passed away Tuesday, May 22, 2007 at his home with his family by his side. Virgil was born October 6, 1933 in Harveyton, KY, the son of Felix and Dona (Gayheart) Smith. On June 30, 1956 he married Roberta Craynon in Combs, KY. Virgil was a Korean Conflict Veteran serving in the US Army. He was a Past Master and member of Ben Franklin, # 719 F.&A.M. and Past Patron and member of Washington Chapter, #195 O.E.S.

Virgil enjoyed nature, gardening and his precious granddaughters.

He is survived by his loving daughter, Debi (Dave) Homer; granddaughters, Erica Hodges and Lacie Hinkle; sisters, Juanita Combs and Geneva Ellison; brother, Billy Ray (Brenda) Smith; sister-in-law Irene Rogers; numerous nieces and nephews; and Craig Lepera, whom Virgil thought of as a son. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife, Roberta on September 15, 2005.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Dr. William Krall, Nurse Linda, and Virgil's Hospice of Cincinnati Team.

Visitation will be 10:30 a.m. - until time of Eastern Star and Masonic Services (12:30 a.m.) followed by funeral services at 1 p.m., Friday, May 25, 2007 at the Avance Funeral Home & Crematory, 4976 Winton Rd., Fairfield. Interment will follow at Butler County Memorial Park. IN LIEU OF FLOWERS, please make memorials to Hospice of Cincinnati, P.O. Box 633597, Cinti, OH 45263.
