Age 92 of Hamilton passed away Wednesday, December 12, 2007 at Vitas Hospice - Ft. Hamilton. She was born October 27, 1915 in Georgetown, KY, the daughter of George and Jennie (Shinkle) Popham. On September 11, 1937, Virginia married Lester E. Betts.
She is survived by her daughters, Martha Bailey, Patricia (Leroy) Reed, Phyllis Padgett; grandchildren, Steve, Nancy, Doug, Kenny, Kevin, Tracy, Lisa, Jerry, and Jim; great-grandchildren, Brandy, Patricia, Johnathon, Justin, Mathew, Jeremy, James, Samantha, Ashley, Kacey, Noah, Josh and Joey; 1 great-great-grandchild, Nicole; sister, Anna Henson; and numerous nieces and nephews. Virginia was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers; granddaughter, Tonya; great-grandson, Josh; son-in-laws, Raymond Padgett and Pete Bailey.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Tuesday, December 18, 2007 at the Avance Funeral Home & Crematory, 4976 Winton Rd., Fairfield. Burial will follow at Rest Haven Memorial Park. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m., Monday, at the funeral home. Condolences may be sent at www.avancefuneralhome.com
