Virginia B. Harris

of Cincinnati, formerly of Cape Girardeau, MO, passed away, Tuesday, November 4, 2008 at Mercy Hospital of Fairfield. She was born July 4, 1924 in Cape Girardeau, MO, the daughter of William and Opal (Jones) Kimbel. At an early age she was blessed with a loving step-father Cecil Turner, Sr. Virginia was a gifted musician, who played the violin with the Shreveport, LA Symphony. Ms. Harris returned to Cape in later years and participated in "Sweet Adelines" and volunteered at St. Francis Hospital. Her last four years were spent in Fairfield, OH where her family resided. Virginia was a member of the Sacred Heart Church in Fairfield and the Knights of Columbus, No. 8115 Ladies Auxiliary.

She will be greatly missed by her daughter Karen (Jim) Stemann; grandchildren, Michael (Julie) Cain, David Cain, Brian Cain, and Marc (Stephanie) Stemann; great-grandchildren, Erin Virginia Cain, Derek Baker, and Stephanie Baker; brother, Cecil Turner, Jr.; and sister, Judy Hanebrink; and numerous nieces and nephews in Cape.

Visitation will be 10 a.m. - until time of Mass of Christian Burial (11 a.m.), Tuesday, November 11, 2008 at Sacred Heart Church, 400 Nilles Rd., Fairfield with Father Larry Tharp, Celebrant. In lieu of flowers, Virginia's request was, memorials be made to the Sacred Heart Church Building Fund. Condolences may be sent at www.avancefuneralhome.com. The Avance Funeral Home in Fairfield is serving the family.
