Carchedi, Vito Mikial May 4, 1959 – August 12, 2025
It is with deep sorrow and much love that we announce the passing of Vito Mikial Carchedi on August 12, 2025 at 66 years young. Vito succumbed to esophageal cancer after a tumultuous yet brave battle. As was Vito’s unwavering wish, he passed at home with his partner, Ashli, and his furbabies. Vito was a man of many loves and interests (in no particular order):
He was an Army Veteran and was very proud of it. Some honors bestowed in the Army included being an expert M-16 rifle marksman, completing leadership training, and earning a badge for being an excellent driver of his assigned equipment. He loved to tell stories of his times in Washington State and Germany and the wonderful friends he made. He flew his American flag on the house and had several in his yard regularly and very proudly wore his Army Veteran biker vest.
He was a Cincinnati Bengals SUPER fan! His antics will be missed at the training camps and the games will not be the same without his “colorful” commentary.
There is no doubt that Vito loved his furbabies, well, all dogs actually. He made sure his dogs and most dogs around him were spoiled. He made many donations to local shelters. Many of his tattoos were of his pups that had passed and he and Ashli kept a vigil of their furbabies’ ashes and belongings. He liked people but he LOVED his dogs.
Halloween was his FAVORITE holiday. He loved to decorate his yard and provide scary entertainment for the neighborhood. He was so happy and proud with each new piece of décor or when coming up with a new theme for the year.
Vito loved his job as a self-employed salesman. It gave him joy to help people improve their homes. He proudly boasted that his company had the best warranty in the business. He also loved the freedom his schedule allowed for him to be able to stop at store after store, restaurants, gas stations, yogurt shops, banks, etc. throughout the day and he knew people at each place.
Hitting the open road on his Harley was one of his favorite pastimes. He participated in many organized rides over the years and met many great people along the way.
He was a very generous man and was willing to help anyone in need. He dedicated many hours and funds over several years to The Dragonfly Foundation via The Ride for Dragonfly, now known as Vito’s Ride for Dragonfly. It meant so much to him to help families cope with pediatric cancer and the irony of being diagnosed with cancer himself was not lost on him.
One of his proudest achievements is his daughter, Kayla. He enjoyed movie nights, church, lunches, Bengals practices and games, many hours of phone conversations, countless selfies, and just making great memories with her.
As he started strolling down memory lane in recent months, his life with his partner, Ashli, was at the forefront of fond recollections. He was thankful for the love and happiness they shared including their mutual affection for their furbabies, movie nights, and their tradition of leaving each other loving notes around the house.
Vito will be lovingly remembered by his partner of 27 years, Ashli Golday; his daughter, Kayla Nobbs; his surviving furbabies: Babi Punkin, Elli May, and Joey; his grandpup Barney; his sisters Ramona Randolph and Debi Eichhorn (Matt); his nieces Vanessa Hoffman (JD) and Kate Rutherford (Danny); his nephews JT Randolph (Ian) and Josh Eichhorn (Jonathan), great nieces Jazmine Hoffman, Nikki Hoffman, Oliana Hoffman, and Skyelar Rutherford ; several cousins; Ashli’s sister, Brandi Golday; countless colleagues, neighbors, and friends that were very special to him.
He was predeceased by his mother, Yolanda “Ricki” Carchedi, all her siblings, many close family members and friends, and many very loved furbabies.
A celebration of Vito’s life and legacy will be held on Sunday, September 21st. Details will be released once the final plans are determined.
